Thanks go to Kevin Wagner from University of Notre Dame who convened this conference and to Edwina Murphy, from Australian University of Theology, who worked so ably with Kevin in bringing about another successful conference. We had two keynote presentations: one from Wendy Mayer on the Thursday evening, entitled "Approaching John Chrysostom as an Interpreter of Scripture in the Twenty-First Century," and one from David Starling on the Saturday afternoon, entitled "'I have applied all this to myself and Apollos': The Sources and Rhetorical Function of the Saying 'Not beyond what is written' in 1 Corinthians 4:"

 

There were forty other papers presented in seven sessions. Participants came from throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

On the Friday afternoon, participants were able to visit the Rocks area of Sydney and the harbour. The conference dinner was held at Squires in Circular Quay, with stunning views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The food and wine were excellent. Once again, it was a joy to renew or forge scholarly associations and friendships.
